Dynamometer at Ogden Motorsport
As Steve's reputation has grown so have the company’s facilities which now boast an extremely accurate state of the art engine dynamometer specifically designed for kart engines.The dynamometer is situated in a purpose built facility allowing the operator to control both the temperatures of the engine and the ambient climate, ensuring consistency between dyno runs.
Ogden Motortsports Rotronics dynamometer also has a built in eddy current brake, which allows the engine to be put under a controlled load, this is extremely useful when simulating on-track conditions with wind and rolling resistance.
Adding load is also very useful when running engines in, we have a custom made program for doing just this which over a period of time will gradually increase the load on your engine, saving you valuable setting up and practice time at the track.
Another very important feature of the dyno is its weather station, which automatically adjusts the power output readings to compensate for air pressure, temperature and humidity. This allows us to accurately compare engines tested on different days and even in different seasons.
Dynamometer print outs are readily available as is our friendly help and advice to help you understand how the facility works and can be used to measure and tune your engine.
